Introducing my partner

January 2010 was the deadline I had given my parents. Or, it should be like, my parents had given me the deadline. January 2010 was when I was supposed to signal green for marriage, and my parents would start looking out to find that special person to get me married to.

The deadline was fixed more than a year ago, and I had totally forgotten about it. Even when I was vacationing in Goa in December, I did not know that the January deadline would come rolling down so fast down the hill, like Romesh Powar rolling down to bowl. But when January came, it was all apparent. The search had begun, and everyone was talking about prospective girls, horoscope matches, profile preparations and portrait photographs at my home.

Finally after a couple of months of restless expeditions, and sleepless nights (for my parents), the girl who would be by my side for the rest of my life has been found, and I have signalled green. So, here I will answer the FAQs about my wedding.

1. So, who is the girl?
Her name is Sangeetha. She is from Hassan in Karnataka. Hassan is 4 hrs drive from Bangalore, on the way to Mangalore. (I am saying this because, I want you to come for my wedding).

2. Ok, what is Sangeetha doing?
She is still studying! She is doing her BBM course in Hassan. She is in the second year of her course. She will complete by 2011.

3. So, when are you guys getting engaged?
Hmmm, the date has not been fixed. It will be some time in June 2010. I will announce when the date for engagement has been fixed.

4. In June? That is too long na?
Yes, what to do? It was decided keeping in mind a lot of things!

5. Ok, then when is the wedding?
That will be even longer. it might be in Jan or Feb 2011.

6. Hmmm. So, how are you guys keeping in touch?
The ever powerful mobile phone has come in quite handy. We have decided to give some good business to the mobile service providers for the next one year.

7. Fine. Will you invite me for the wedding?
Yes definitely. I would invite you personally for the wedding, and I sincerely wish you should come for my wedding, not minding that you have to travel till Hassan. Here is where Hassan is.
